Fred's Mexican Cafe
It's not unusual to be around the best seafood in the world and still get a craving for a taco once in a while. Luckily there's Fred's Mexican Cafe in Kihei. With five established locations from San Diego to Huntington Beach, Ca, you know you're in good hands when it comes to your favorite Mexican dishes on Maui.
After being greeted with what I call the "Hola-ha Spirit" you'll be given fresh chips and salsa which you can take one step further by upgrading to the Grande Nachos. All of the usual taco favorites are on the menu, but the Calamari Steak Taco served with a chipotle aioli and the Cajun Shrimp Taco served with a tomatillo sauce are stand alone winners. From Fajitas, Carnitas to Margaritas, Fred's brings the taste of Mexico to our beloved islands.
Fred's is a two story restaurant, and while the downstairs is turning out dinners by the dozen, the upstairs is moving and grooving with music, dancing and for the ones with two left feet, there's pool tables and darts to go along with your beers and island drink specials. The best deals will always be on Taco Tuesdays, but everyday is a good day at Fred's.
