Buzz’s Wharf
During the winter months, whale watch tours come and go out of Ma’alaea Harbor. To the right the extremely fast surf break known as Racetracks is breaking and surfers show off their skills to the diners with a view. You may even spy a whale breach or two from your table at Buzz’s Wharf — one of the oldest restaurants on the island.
Started in 1967, Buzz’s Wharf is the perfect place to stop and enjoy their unique blend of American, Tahitian and Hawaiian cuisine while enjoying views of Ma’alaea Harbor and the peak of Haleakala stretching above the clouds.
With the addition of a gluten free and kids menu, everyone can enjoy lunch and dinner or stop in for an appetizer when heading from the West side to the South end of the island and vice versa. Try the "Poisson Cru" Tahitian Poke entree, marinated ahi served with onions, cucumbers, carrots in lime juice and coconut milk or the "Poulet Fafa" with coconut milk, chicken sautéed in coconut oil with onions, garlic and ginger taro leaves topped with coconut milk. Visit their website at http://www.buzzswharf.com for their daily specials and happy hours, and enjoy an assortment of specialty drinks like Buzz’s Mai Tai, Jamaican Me Crazy and Buzz’s Haleakala Sunset while listening to live music on Wednesday nights. Don’t forget your appetite and hula skirt!
